“The Land Of Fire” By Kerby L. Marcelin

We were forced to abandon our pulchritudinous land and family....
We were embedded as objects in this hellish sea...
Our last memory was the perfumed wind of our fields...
The cries of our children and women have bitten our heart severely....

Bound by chains and shackles doing the long march towards the shadow of another land...
Probably   a  very different planet...
Hunger was our only friend...
The smell of our bodies made us mute and bang...

These chains were rusty with our acid sweats running off our knees
We were treated worse than horses
we were sold ,and betrayed by our own brothers...
we were crowned by a tenacious anger...

They knew our strength, and that’s the reason we were used for...
That handles the pride in our eyes, and sweeten our tears...
Finally, we defeat all the fears, and climb the splendid hill of liberty...
Ethnocentrism has shrouded  our mind, with unity and faith we  trembled the throne..
